Senior Cost Estimator

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides Life Cycle Cost Estimating services for the agency by performing core estimator functions
  • Develops detailed work breakdown structure (WBS), creating ground rules and assumptions, performing sensitivity and risk analysis, validating a cost estimate, documenting and briefing results, updating estimates with actual costs
  • Support Financial Management Division Director with ad hoc budget formulation tasks

Required Years of Experience:

  • 10+

Required Degree Level/Concentration:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field (experience can be substituted for MS)

Additional Skill/Certification/Language Notes:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Experience in cost modeling using ACEIT (Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools) applications
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional experience in a financial management organization
  • Previous federal government budget experience a plus
  • Strong MS Excel using Pivot tables, sum and if functions with large data sets
  • Ability to be flexible, innovative, show initiative, and manage fast-paced situations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
